Professor (W2) for Compliance Management and Data Protection

at the Faculty of Business and Economics

Your duties include:

  • General representation of the fields Compliance Management and Data Protection, including administrative and technical implementation in teaching and applied research
  • Work in related subjects such as Data Protection or Information Systems Auditing
  • Practice-oriented teaching in the subject areas both in German and in English and also using digital formats (e-learning, blended learning) in Ansbach and possibly at other university sites
  • Subject-specific and strategic further development of the subject areas with special focus on digitisation
  • High-quality supervision of practical assignments , Bachelor's and Master's theses as well as doctorates
  • Involvement in setting up new international partnerships and maintaining existing ones
  • Proactive involvement in research and development activities
  • Active and interdisciplinary involvement in administering academic affairs

You offer:

  • University degree, preferably in business, information systems, computer science or related subjects
  • Outstanding professional and scientific qualifications and proven practical experience in the design and implementation of compliance management and data protection systems
  • Comprehensive cross-sectional knowledge of both the technological fundamentals of information security and the organizational and legal frameworks of data protection
  • Extensive experience in Compliance Management and Data Protection, as well as related fields such as Data Protection and Information Systems Auditing in teaching and applied research
  • Ideally also knowledge of setting up an information security management system
  • Mature teaching skills and convincing pedagogical aptitude
  • Excellent academic achievements in research and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent academic qualification
  • Very good  German and English proficiency and ability and willingness to teach in German and in English
  • Enthusiasm for passing on your practical experience in teaching applied research to our students as future academics
  • Special achievements in the implementation and development of academic insights and methods in a minimum of five years of work experience gained after completing your first degree and of which at least three years must have been gained outside of the university sector. If, over a period of at least five years, a considerable portion of your work involved a cooperation between a university and a non-academic employer, this time may be considered to meet the requirements for non-academic work experience in special cases (pursuant to article 7 (3) sentence 1 point (3) of the Bavarian Higher Education Act (BayHSchG))
